The Company of Animals Anxiety Wrap and Nina Ottosson MixMax- Pet Product reviews

Remember when I went to Global Pet Expo in February?
I met a lot of companies with furrific new products.   These are the pawsome products I received from The Company of Animals and Nina Ottosson.
I have been practicing my puzzle solving skills since February.   The new MixMax puzzle by Nina Ottosson has challenged me more than any other puzzle I have tried.

I love this fun maze style puzzle!  It entertains me for longer than most puzzles.    I am so happy I have the MixMax to entertain me during all the rain we have this year.   After months of practice, I can solve it in 10 minutes if I am lucky.  It usually takes me longer though.  Sometimes I get tired halfway through it and take a nap, then finish it later.   BOL!!   Mom will buy more squares to add to it (to make it harder), after I am really good at solving the 3 squares I have.   This puzzle will never become too easy or boring.  High Paw!

If you can't find it in your store yet, it is available at Nina Ottosson's web shop.
I received my MixMax when I met Nina Ottosson in furson at Global Pet Expo!   I feel special that I received mine before they were available to purchase!   Later, I will buy a cat MixMax square.  The MixMax for cats is pink & blue!   They look like they are the same toy, just different colors.   I absolutely love the MixMax puzzle!

Notes:  Always supervise animals with any toy.  I don't try to swallow toys, but I have heard of some dogs that try to eat weird things like rocks.   I think their humans should be reminded about the possible choking opportunities all toys have.  This puzzle does have small cups that slide off.  Don't let your dog try to swallow the cups - possible choking hazard.   I don't think the cups could fit in a cat's mouth, but supervise them too.
You may have noticed tape on the cups in my video.  I discovered how to cheat by licking the treat out with my tongue.   BOL!!   I have a little tongue, and the hole is about the size of a dime.   Mom has finally learned which treats can't be licked out.  She has now removed the tape from my cups.   BOL!!   Larger dogs shouldn't be able to lick out the treats.
Update:  I just heard a rumor that the holes in the retail version will be smaller!  High Paw!!
------------
We have had a lot of thunderstorms this Summer.  I am so thankful for the Anxiety Wrap that  I received from Dr. Mugford at The Company of Animals booth during Global Pet Expo.  I have been wearing it almost every day!
I have tried a competitor's product, but I really like this one the best.   There are 3 big reasons it is my favorite garment for stressful times.
  1. The fabric is lightweight.  When you are as fluffy as I am, and live in the South, staying cool is very impawtant.    I love that the special fabric is lightweight, breathable, and still puts enough pressure on all of the impawant pressure points.
  2.  It fits well!  If you are a small dog with a large ribcage, I'm sure you understand how hard it is to find proper fitting garments.   It has drawstrings at the neck and waist to fine tune the fit.   The Anxiety Wrap is available in 11 sizes!  I wear a Mini Plus size (19-20 inch chest).   The Anxiety Wrap has sizes small enough for dogs with a 13 inch chest, and large enough for dogs with a 41 inch chest!   My Great Dane pal Abby has a 34 inch chest, so they even have one for her size!
  3. The Anxiety Wrap works better for me.  It covers more of my body, and puts pressure on all of the stress pressure points.  Including the ones in my back end.
It has detachable, adjustable leg straps.  These straps make my rear end feel like it's being held,  the same way it feels when Mom holds me.    The straps put pressure on the points that release stress stored in the hindquarters.
I can wear my Anxiety Wrap all day without feeling uncomfortable.  It is flexible and maintains pressure while moving with my natural movements.   Mom can pour water on it to help keep me cool if it is a hot day.  She has even slipped a thin, cold gel pack inside of it.   It can be washed in cold water and air dried.  The heat in most dryers damages stretch fabrics.

Note to humans:  This is a tight fitting garment, it has to be tight to work well.   If you can't put a t-shirt on your dog, you will have trouble getting this one on and off of him.  You need to be able to put your dog's front legs through the leg holes.   I don't have any trouble, but I am used to wearing different harnesses and clothing.   Mom says to tell the human ladies that it is a bit like putting on control top pantyhose.  BOL!  It may take a little effort to get into it, but it is worth it.

All of the Anxiety Wrap photos were taken during an actual thunderstorm when I showed signs of stress.   You can see how well it works because I am napping in the last photo.   Well, I still needed to be close to Mom, but I didn't insist being held.

------------
I received 2 more products from Dr. Mugford to help Mom control my barking.  One of them is the Quiet Dog strap.  It goes around the neck and over the nose.  It is available in different sizes - I have the smallest size.   The other one is a can of Pet Corrector, a can that sprays air and makes a hissing sound to distract dogs.   They both work great - when Mom remembers to use them.   BOL!!

Dr. Mugford also gave me a Halti leash.  It is a multipurpose leash that is much thinner and lighter than the one I was wearing.   It is one of the few hands-free leashes I have seen that are less than an inch wide.
------------
Have you tried any of these products?  Which of these products would you use the most?   With all the rain we have this year, I use the Anxiety Wrap and the MixMax puzzle the most!
Thank you Nina Ottosson and Dr. Mugford!

  2. I like that the anxiety wrap has the straps for pressure points around the butt, have you ever tried the thunder shirt? This works better/faster?

    1. Yes, and yes. I have both, the Anxiety Wrap is my favorite. Works better and faster for me. All of my 3 points listed in the review apply (cooler, better fit, more effective).

    1. Thank you! I haven't done a separate review on the Quiet Dog strap. Mom keeps forgetting to put it on me. I push it off, so for me, it is a training tool that has to be repositioned every time I bark. It acts like a consequence - I bark, the strap is back on my nose. It is sort of like when Mom tried a muzzle to silence me, I pushed it off. The Quiet Dog is easier for Mom to put back into place, so it is more effective for training than the muzzle was. When Dr. Mugford worked with me at Global Pet Expo, the Quiet Dog worked pawsome. His timing and attention is much better than Mom's. He is an expert! I think you should try the Quiet Dog strap. It fits a bit like a Halti head collar, but is elastic to tire out your jaw when you bark.

    2. I should have explained that most dogs don't push it off. I am one of the "special" ones. BOL!! I have a short nose, and I am very persistent when I want to take something off. Most dogs can't push a muzzle off like I can. BOL!!

  7. Barkly's hard to fit too with his large Corgi ribs and long body. We're going to have to try to find one of those Anxiety Wraps for him!
